I've used the Miller checklist, other ones, like your LEAP approach better- I think it's easier to grasp for people with high school/college education. I only wish I had known more earlier - now, I am just helplessly watching the progress of his illness and am only his friend forever - but he has no one else in his life - I am still interested in learning from your book, which I will purchase tomorrow morning and am hoping to learn some of your tactics of leading to possible enlightenment for me and especially for my son. Please let me know if there are any occasions to hear you in Northern California - I live in Santa Clara, south of San Francisco.
